Most people (wrongly) believe that "example.com" means an exact match.
Most people believe that "*.example.com" is necessary to match "www.example.com".
Only a few people know about or use "=example.com" for an exact match.
Even though it is documented correctly people don't believe it if one explains it like that but instead they think one doesn't even have a basic knowledge of pattern matching.
And public blocklists usually also mean an exact match when using "example.com" which sometimes results in DNSCrypt-Proxy doing some overblocking.
