Unsure exactly how to give more details as I have no logs of this issue and only a vague idea of what the cause may be.
Using a mod called ClientExtension, after installing the GOG version of NWN2 Complete through Heroic, as I was trying to troubleshoot the cause of the CTD, the Launcher for ClientExtension complained about no entries for the game on the registry.
I went on my registry to confirm, found no entries, and decided to remove the game and try using the offline installer from the website. To my shock, the game booted up just fine and when I tried using above referred to mod again, it also worked just fine. So there is something the offline installer is doing that the Heroic installer is not.
I'd love to suggest a solution, but I'm blanking out on that front, so I decided to file this report to see if someone smarter than me could do that so it gets fixed in future releases. Unsure if this affects other games, but if it does, I assume the fix would be similar.
