How can I make Breathe example animate correctly across hot reloads?

So I downloaded and ran Breathe example in web, and then started tweaking the colors. I noticed that when I change a color and save the file the time when the flower is near to its full bloom, the animation becomes slower and it doesn't fully animate from 0 to full bloom.

Here's the default behavior:

Here's me saving the file before the flower is near to its full bloom. Notice after I save the save the file, the animation slows down quite a lot, and the flower's size never goes to zero size:

I just want to know if it is a known/expected behavior, and if yes, how one fixes this.
