Interesting idea. I actually used to have a "todo" command, but all it did was add the text to the email, rather than act as any actual tracking mechanism. I found it ended up being not super helpful, because the system lacked a way to actually check that item off later. Do you think it'd be useful anyway to just have it add something to the email? Or would you want it to do something a little fancier like continue to include an unfinished "todo" item in future emails until it was completed?
The slack team we are using Squash on, we've set up a dedicated channel for doing our /doing and /done entries. The channel wide report lets the boss man see what we've been reporting that's been done.
The problem I'm hoping to solve is that we currently use another system that the boss man wants filled out weekly with "What did you do last week? What are you doing this week? Anything blocking you?" By going through my individual Squash report I can gather up each day (a weekly view would be nice), copy and paste into the other system the answers to the first and last question.
Having a command, like /todo, where I could add things coming up would fill in the second question. If boss man needs weekly reports, staff would just need to remember to enter all their /todo tasks by a certain time.
