Hi @RDboy99, 30 minutes is way too long, startup should take a couple of minutes at most, 5 minutes if you're really stretching it thin. Please could you confirm what LCD display messages you receive throughout your recovery boot procedure? I would expect something along the lines of Startup Initializing and then Loading Recovery. If you are receiving the Loading Recovery message, but are still not getting a DHCP address, try the procedure again plugged into the other ethernet port. Please also note, this prerelease of the installer does not show the IP address on the LCD, so if you were expecting that to ensure that it has got an IP address, it won't happen. To check what IP address the box has, you'll have to use either your router's device list or a free tool like Advanced IP Scanner. Thanks, Alex |

Alex I am able to get an ip address (using ubuntu 22.04 serrver usb created with dd) im trying to ssh from my linux box with ssh installer@<wx400_IP_dhcp> and then password dx4000 but it comes back with permission denied.. any ideas why? This is a second hand device given to me. Also, I didn't saved any extra files to the USB drive other than the ubuntu server iso. Should i modify something on the USB after dd'ing the iso before attempting the first "loading recovery" boot? Thanks |

Hello and thank you for what you've done ! I believe I have to run scripts to modify the iso/usb bootable stick but i don't know when, where and how to use them... Thanks a lot for your help ! Guillaume |

When I boot I get a DHCP address however when I scan with NMAP port 22 is not open so when I try to login it is rejecting the connection. I can ping the IP. |

I was able to complete installation with PR2 however; "After the install is complete, the system will fail to boot..." I went back into recovery and ran the "disk-detect" command but I'm not sure where to find what to mount? I've tried "ls"ing my way around to copy ("cp) the startup.nsh file but I don't know where the boot partition is? /dev/sda? please help. |

Greetings! I could use a hand, for some reason it doesn't appear to be using the startup.nsh file. At the end of the install, I dropped to a shell, and copied it to all the possible folders, but the DX4000 just displays searching, and is not on the network. Any suggestions? |

I just got a DX4000 a bit ago and found your work. When I go to install I get this nice red screen. Any thought? |

Hi @alexhorner, I'm a bit of a noob so please bear with me. I downloaded Debian and burned it with Etcher. Followed your procedure to boot while holding down the reset key. I have waited as long as 30 minutes but still got no dhcp address on the nas. Can you say how long it takes to boot? can you recommend some troubleshooting tips?
