Issue installing erlang 27.1.2 in mac os x

I am having this error when installing on my mac

 asdf install erlang 27.1.2
ERROR: 'asdf_27.1.2' is not a kerl-managed Erlang/OTP installation.

I am using these flags:

Having a similar error when installing 27.2. Already had jdk preinstalled

A colleague of mine had the same issue with OTP 27.2 and he solved it by increasing the number of allowed open files as suggested in this other thread #319 (comment)
