In Atom 1.16 (currently Beta), there will be an option to use a custom inset title bar: atom/atom#13616. It has a bit more padding around the traffic lights:

title-bar 3

Not that useful, but it would be neat if the tool-bar would replace that title bar. Something like:

title-bar-custom 2

Not sure if it should be opt-in or opt-out or all the time a user would use a combination of: custom-inset title bar + full width top tool bar.

Anyways, I can try to make a PR in case there is interest.

I'd love to see this. Not sure if I'd use it forever, but it's a really neat feature.

Just saw this atom/atom#13616 (comment) the other day and as funny as it looks initially, it might not be a bad idea. Could be a separate package that adds the 3 buttons and custom styles them.
