I'm opening up this Issue to provide a place for community members to contribute their questions, comments, and concerns regarding the topics covered by the Lesson Publication Task Force. You can read more about the Task Force's goals in the charter document in this repo.

Primary Task Force Topics

Publication Scheduling

  • regularly scheduled?
    • how often?
    • what if little has changed?
  • milestone-based
    • who sets milestones?
    • who keeps track of when to initiate?

Determining Authorship

  • cutoff for authorship
    • what type of contribution constitutes authorship?
  • authorship ordering
    • size of contribution?
    • recency of contribution?
  • how to measure contribution "size"
    • number of commits?
    • "importance" of commits?

Who Does It

  • Maintainers?
    • already a lot of work
    • might be less focused on whether lesson content has sufficiently changed
  • Curriculum Advisory Committee
    • don't currently exist
    • have a broad overview perspective
    • might not necessarily have technical expertise

Maximizing Usefulness

  • is Zenodo publication usable?
  • are publications useful for academics and non-academics?
