This seems like a natural progression and an even simpler solution. I just don't know Klipper well enough to develop a solution.
It would seem that one could connect the soft potentiometer to a 3 pin end-stop port on a controller board or toolhead board and write a macro that would do what the probe_calibrate macro does.
If anyone has suggestions/experience with Klipper macros, I'd be interested in learning more!
