I would be interested in helping too. |
Okay, I'm in too. |
Wow, awesome folks! Thanks for the interest! 🎉🎃 As this issue is the first for a language, I’m not entirely sure how to approach this. I played some ideas out in #202, what do y’all think about those? |
Looking at the way the projects are made, I think your approach is good. I can take care of the profanities project, to start with. |
I can help with French as well! And I really want to! |
@deatheguard Perfect! You can help review words/cuss#15, or maybe start work on |
Soo, we landed French in The next step is to add something for French to |
Hi! Do you still need help with french version? I would be happy to help. |
Yes, we do, and that would be lovely! We have a list of profanities, just like in English, but there aren’t any patterns, such as the English ones, which deal with insensitive stuff like condescending language, or gendered terms. Help with that is greatly appreciated. If you’re interested, I suggest starting small. Taking a couple of patterns from an existing English file and translating them. Would you be interested in that? How I can I help you? |
@wooorm Great, I would love to help with this! |
Awesome. Some more information is in the Contributing section btw. Let me know if you run into troubles, I’ll help you! |
@wooorm To be sure to understand, you are suggesting to take Thanks a lot for your work. |
Hi Sébastien! That is correct, I’m suggesting to take the English existing rules and translate them. Although: it’s important to note that every language language is different. Certain suggestions may be OK in English but would be incorrect (or maybe even harmful?) in French, and the other way around. Most of the suggestions in the English ruleset come from somewhat “respected” sources (e.g., news organizations, or lgbtq+ groups), and from user submissions. So I’d also suggest looking into lists of “respected” sources in French? |
ok i will try to involve people that can help me to get those sources. |
Subject of the issue
