OTEL expirer absurdly increases the histograms count and sum in NOTEL demo #1065

Some metrics have frequent spikes:

You can see that the removal logs for that datapoint happen at the same time than the spikes:

At the moment, we will just set a big default TTL in the OTEL exporter, and hide the otel expiration from the documentation.

For future reference to whomever works on this: grep for TODO otel-removal on the source code the relevant code points.

The bug is fixed because we removed the feature that caused it, but we should close this task when we are able to bring back the feature without bringing back the bug.
