add metrics.py and others validation?

so the app keeps going down for one reason or another. I'm basically dropping and recreating the metrics tables each time, and streamlit doesn't like that. could add logic in the streamlit app to re-run the action and reconnect, but simpler option may be to run on a schedule something like python metrics.py and the pages, notifying of errors
