This is implemented now in 1.3.0-alpha10, but only for response representations, not for request bodies. That said, this feels like 95% of use-cases so worth closing this issue. Feel free to raise a new issue for request bodies if you have a need.

I think JSON:API would be a use-case for this? The JSON:API spec says:

Servers MUST send all JSON:API data in response documents with the header Content-Type: application/vnd.api+json without any media type parameters.
