HOWTO Create and run Nodejs Socket.IO Server

Instructions are for Ubuntu / Linux-like machines

  1. Supposing you have copied the whole Nodejs_SocketIO_TestServer folder to ~/Download/Nodejs folder
  2. Go to ~/Download/Nodejs folder
$ cd ~Download/Nodejs folder
  1. Install Nodejs server. npm is the package manager for the Node JavaScript platform
$ npm i
  1. Run the Socket.IO Server
$ node app

or

$ ./SIO_server.sh
