Github Auth with browser does not redirect to terminal and does not verify authentication #18416
Comments
Thanks for filing! Are you running Terminal as Admin /? Does your browser open up to authenticate via GitHub (or at all) after you click the button? |
I tried both ways, both as an administrator and without permission. As far
as the browser is concerned, yes, it is opened correctly

Windows Terminal version
latest
Windows build number
10.0.26100.0
Other Software
Using Terminal Canary, once you go into the settings, if you try to add Github Copilot and started browser authentication the redirect does not happen and the function waits to verify authentication until the timeout.
Steps to reproduce
Go to Settings > Terminal Chat (Experimental) and click on "Authenticate via Github"
Expected Behavior
You should verify the token and then use Github Copilot
Actual Behavior
Nothing, only showing "Awaiting authentication completion from..."
