Dynamic span name

I have span that I initiate and work fine as

class BatchTask:
    table_name: str
    ...
    @tracer.start_as_current_span("fetch_and_upsert_data")
    def fetch_and_upsert_data(self, date: str, fetch_timeout_in_seconds: float = 0):
        pass

I'm wondering if it is possible to have the span name generated dynamically, for example to make use of self.table_name or the date argument of the function that it wraps?

You can use span.update_name or just compose the name using the params you need if they are static
