Easiest way to get started with Butler

Starting with version 12.4.0 it is easier than before to get started with Butler.

The sample config file that is included in the release zip files has been modified to a "minimal configuration" state:

• Most features are disabled.
• Sample configuration values are present in the file, but commented out.

Given the new template config file, Butler will start in a minimal configuration state if a few Sense server related settings (hostname/IP address of Sense server etc) are entered into the config file.
The exact settings that need to be added are listed at the beginning of the template config file, and also listed below.

Once those settings are added you should be able to start Butler and verify it's working without any errors.
You can then enable the specific Butler features you need.
