I believe this is a feature request to Quarto as I see we hard-coded the cache name quarto-cli/src/resources/jupyter/notebook.py Line 125 in ec8cd58 This may be for some reason, but unsure about that. I believe this was just because So this needs to be adapted so that default path is used. Too bad that the Python API does not seem to have a So possibly we just need to check for |

Description
Is it possible to configure the location used for Jupyter Cache files? The current behavior (Quarto v1.6.40) appears to be to create
.jupyter-cache
folders at the same level as the qmd files being rendered, which results in the cache folders being scattered through the hierarchy of the project. I would like to centralize these so that there's just one.jupyter-cache
folder at the root of the project. (Easier to manage this way. My ultimate goal is to easily store these in a GitHub Actions cache.)Reading the Jupyter Cache doc, they seem to provide an environment variable (
JUPYTERCACHE
) that would allow me to specify a location. However when I set this variable and runquarto render
the observed behavior is unchanged.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
