@AnCMpi Afaik Ubuntu 18.04 is too old for the current version of Sonic Pi. I am using Ubuntu 22.04 and it's running flawlessly.
I recommend updating your system and using flatpak to install Sonic Pi.

To solve you issue:

  1. Install new version of Ubuntu or some other distro using new Ubuntu under the hood (I'm using Tuxedo OS 2)
  2. You need to install flatpak - on Tuxedo OS 2 it's already installed, but it's really easy to install it on Ubuntu as well.
  3. You need to install Sonic Pi

This should solve your issue - I hope it helps!
