Programming has become really bureaucratic and boring, hasn't it?
My goal is to try to make programming fun again. The kind of fun of the 1980's Creative Computing Magazine or the graphics mode in Q-Basic. Remember those days?
Alright, maybe you're too young. Let's say Geocities, DOOM mods and 2600 magazine, what about those?
Oh, I see. Alright, what about MySpace skins? Arduino? Lego Mindstorms? LOGO on an Apple ][? TI-82 Basic? Any of this?
"Chris", you say, "This is the past. Ever since big finance took over tech nobody cares about computers any more...All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."
So is it time for fun to die?
No! Fun is critical! It is the engine of our imagination!
Let's bring back the dreams of a better tomorrow; get people imagining about the possibility of a better world once again. The Future, now more than ever.

SelectMake me feel obligated
You can cast your sway over my moral fortitude, making me feel indebted to the cause, for merely 3.2 pennies a day. I will bear the burden "well someone is paying me to do this" on behalf of a few measly pennies. It'll be glorious.

SelectNickel Plated Magic
Here we are at about $0.065 a day. I spend about 2-3 hours a day on open source so this would put my software programming at about 2¢/hr.
Competent software contracting is about 10,000 times that. You're kinda getting 99.99% off. Whether that's a good enough deal it's up to you

SelectDime-level sponsor
It's kinda like a diamond level sponsor because this is, effectively, a dime a day. This is really for those who think $1.00 is too little but $5.00 seem like a bit too much. Let's do a middle-ground.
Just think about all the things I can get from Ali-Express with those $.10! For instance, I can get these breakout board PCB converters for various USB standards. It'll be magnificent!

SelectActually, I make my coffee at home
Usually this is called "buy me a coffee". How trite, right? Let's figure this out for real:
I just ordered two 350mg whole bean bags (this time from Huckleberry, 2019 us roaster champion) -- that was $41 shipped - about as much as I usually pay. I do a ~24g/400g brew for a 16.6:1 ratio.
This means the 700mg of coffee is 29 cups of coffee which means it costs me $1.41 a cup. So let's call this the "Buy me 3.56 cups of coffee" tier.
Actually I drink a cup a day so this is like 3.5 days worth.
Let's rename this again "Buy me 3.5 days worth of coffee".
You're ROI here is so much better than on the people who buy 2 $5 cups a day!

SelectI guess you're serious
"Alright! $1 a day! No more goofing around! Get to work"
Like some bought out politician I'll have to leave the $5 and $1/month rabble behind, you'll be my true master, dictating my efforts like some shady superfund pack behind the scenes ...
Wait, this is all public?
It's ok really. I've written a lot of computer software. People don't ever read. Especially if we're talking like multiple paragraphs so don't worry, you're secrets will be safe due to societies collective inattention. Rejoice!

SelectThis has to be a mistake
Oh dear, $200 a month? I suppose you can crash on my couch when you're in town. Plus I'll be able to go around and say "There's this one person who pays me $200 a month to do open source. Yeah, I'm serious."
In fact, like a university, I'll even name some computers in your honor. No longer will they be called "the big grey one", but they will be by your name, and yours alone.
