Describe the bug

Just installed Bazzite to my ROG Ally, but no audio comes from the built in speakers. I only hear audio when I plug my headphones into the system.

Output of rpm-ostree status

I've read elsewhere about setting the sound device to Family 17h/19h HD Audio Controller Analog Stereo, putting the volume to 100% and switching back to ROG Ally Output, but the latter option isn't even selectable on the menu.

What did you expect to happen?

I expected my speakers to work our of the box.

Output of rpm-ostree status

Try updating the Bios using Ez-Flash. I had this issue when installing on my ROG Ally (brand new never even setup windows lol, bios version 235), and after updating the bios to version 241 all of the sound issues went away.

Thank you thank you thank you. This no sound was driving me insane until I came across your reply. Installed latest BIOS from ASUS site onto a FAT32 drive, booted into UEFI firmware settings and went to the EZ-FLASH 3 utility, rebooted into bazzite and perfect!

FWIW, this also fixed "no sound in speakers, only in headphones" on my ROG Ally (had bios version 325, now it has 341).

Checking in - is this officially fixed, does it still require a workaround, or is there something Bazzite could theoretically do to fix it?

Since the fix is a bios update, it would require convincing someone to publish BIOS updates for the Rog Ally / ROG Ally X via fwupd. When I checked, no such updates were available.
