Incomplete PATH on macos, not recognizing tool.

Hi,

For whatever reason, wezterm, but not only wezterm, other 3rd party terminals with the same problem. Seem to have a incomplete access or a different access to PATH variable.

Unable to spawn zellij because:
No viable candidates found in PATH "/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin"
⚠️  Process "zellij" in domain "local" didn't exit cleanly
Exited with code 1.
This message is shown because exit_behavior="CloseOnCleanExit"

I've added /Users/user/.cargo/bin which contains the executable, to /etc/paths, but it didnt work. I tried adding in other places, same thing.

When I try to acess the PATH variable from the default terminal, all is there and more. But not directly from wezterm.

If I open wezterm or another terminal from the default terminal, it works.

I had this previous problem with linux, and the solution was to add the .cargo/bin path to /etc/environment, but so far, I have no idea how to get it to work on macos.

I could alter lua, but I dont want to, it should work by default.

Why wezterm only has access to those 4 paths?

Solution:

sudo launchctl config user path $PATH

It's for Finder, Dock and maybe some other tooling.
