Error: Unable to start subsystem: sftp #335

While downloading a folder via the "Download folder" command, an arbitrary number of files will download before erroring out with:

Error: Unable to start subsystem: sftp

This is using a SSH configured remote repo, and anywhere from 10-50 files will download before this error pops up.

Any ideas?
