totptool - time-based one-time-pad testing tool

The tool can perform these functions:

1. Generates a TOTP secret and an otpauth URL for initializing an authentication app. The secret is output to STDERR to make it easy to record while piping the STDOUT output to a QR generator.
2. Verifies a token using a previously generated secret. Exit code will only be zero (0) if verification is successful.

This example shows how use the tool to create a new SHA256 based TOTP by issuer Fubar.com for user [email protected] and display the QR code to scan the TOTP into an authenticator app, and then verify it using the tool:
