Make sure to disable DNS Client Service if you are going to use any larger pack than blu. Follow the guide here.

Download Software

The following softwares will only modify your system's hosts file and few other built-in features might help getting the job done with more ease!

Usage Guide

HostsMan

First Setup

  • Download the software and install.
  • Open the software with administrator privilege.
  • Now add the source of the pack -
    • Choose a protection pack or extension and copy its HOSTS RAW link from Github or Web.
    • Open the software and go to Manage sources > Add Source....
    • Paste the HOSTS RAW link you copied earlier in the File name or URL: box.
    • Enter the pack name in the first name box.
    • Press OK and close the tab.
  • Now on the main software window, Click the Check for Updates button.
  • The software will download the latest pack and place in hosts file automatically.

Update Hosts

  • Open the software with administrator privilege.
  • Click the Check for Updates button and after checking for update, click Yes.
  • The software will download the latest pack and place in hosts file automatically.

Uninstall Hosts/Restore Backup

  • Open the software with administrator privilege.
  • Go to menu Tools > Backup Manager... > Select *Original Hosts*.
  • Now click Restore Backup.
  • It will uninstall the applied hosts pack and restore the original hosts.

SwitchHosts

Setup

  • Download the software and install.
  • Open the software with administrator privilege.
  • Now add the source of the pack -
    • Choose a protection pack or extension and copy its HOSTS RAW link from Github or Web.
    • Open the software and click + > Remote.
    • Paste the HOSTS RAW link you copied earlier in the URL: box.
  • Select Auto Refresh time 24 hours.
  • Click OK and enable the hosts in sidebar.

**If you are facing any kind of lag, delay and freezing issue; internet disconnect or browser not working - just disable the DNS Client Service, and it will be alright. For guide, head to the Configuration guide. Which you missed earlier because you didn't read the guide properly.
