What this PR does / why we need it:
Most graphs that do time-based bucketing should probably be using
$__interval
, but it's a rather obscure variable that's pretty hard to discover. If they don't, there's a risk they use a too-granular interval when zoomed out (= slower queries) or too-coarse interval when zoomed in (= less useful information).The upstream repo @doitintl/bigquery-grafana is in maintenance mode, so I'm submitting this patch here rather, to help the flood of new people looking to migrate their Datadog dashboards to observe.shopify.io,
