We’re excited to share some fantastic news with our community—**Vets Who Code has officially been accepted into the YouTube Nonprofit Program!**
This is a big step for us as we continue our mission to help military veterans transition into tech careers. Video is one of the most powerful tools for storytelling, education, and engagement, and with over a billion viewers on YouTube each month, this program will allow us to reach more veterans, supporters, and potential donors than ever before.
## What This Means for Vets Who Code
By being part of the YouTube Nonprofit Program, we’ll have access to specialized tools and resources that will help us expand our impact, including:
- **Enhanced video storytelling** – We can better showcase the journeys of veterans learning to code, share their successes, and bring more education directly to our veterans in an accessible format.
- **Greater visibility** – Our content will be more discoverable, helping us connect with those who can benefit from our free coding education.
- **Fundraising opportunities** – YouTube’s nonprofit features allow us to integrate donation options directly into our videos, making it easier for supporters to contribute.
- **Educational resources** – YouTube provides nonprofit-specific training through the Creator Academy, helping us optimize our content for engagement and impact.
- **Step-by-step guides** – We’ll leverage YouTube’s nonprofit startup guides to enhance our outreach and build a strong channel presence.
- **Case studies and insights** – We’ll stay up to date with best practices and case studies from other nonprofits to improve our approach.
## Our Top Priority: Democratizing Education
At Vets Who Code, our top priority is **democratizing education** and bringing ten years of experience and data to empower veterans. We want to teach more, ensuring that every veteran, regardless of their background, has access to high-quality coding education and career opportunities. Through YouTube, we will expand our reach and provide even more free, accessible resources to support veterans in their journey to tech careers.
## Sharing Veterans' Journeys
One of our top priorities is highlighting the stories of veterans who have transformed their careers through Vets Who Code. We plan to:
- **Feature veteran success stories** – Showcasing individuals who have transitioned into tech roles after going through our program.
- **Provide behind-the-scenes content** – Giving an inside look at the hard work and dedication behind our mission.
- **Offer in-depth training videos** – Covering key coding concepts, career advice, and industry insights to help veterans succeed.
- **Conduct live Q&As and workshops** – Engaging with our audience in real-time to answer questions and provide guidance.
