This is a preliminary call intended to assess the desires of new participants who would like to restart Dezign team discussions, and what they would like to work on.

What are possible work items (and people who care)

  • UDP Binary transport
    • As per existing draft, how to do the push. Need to investigate intersection with COMI & CBOR. With this, a Get has an "Observe" operation.
    • Tianran*, Walker, (Kent W.), (Phil S.), Igor, Henk, Xufeng
  • Yang notifications & headers + bundled messages
    • As per existing draft. Also will need a way to cover NG YANG notification message. Updates to RFC 7950 & 8040.
    • Eric*, Henk, Alex, Igor
  • Multiple stream originators
    • How to handle linecard push update streams, while supporting promise theory based operation
    • Tianran*, Walker, (Einar), Eric, Alex, Igor
  • Stateful / Smart Filters and Improvement in Triggers
    • Threshold crossings, High water marks, Hierarchical trigger

  • Automation Framework
    • Trigger > Condition > Action. This includes create Report, invoke RPC, etc. differentiation between qualifying events and micro-conditions, differentiation from SNMP. Potential intersection with SUPA. Intersection with Nemo.

Next Steps

  • Meetings will occur weekly at this timeframe to progress effort for Singapore.
  • Agenda for next week is to go through problem statements for the five items above.
    • For the two items above with existing drafts, the only need to to talk through likely topics the draft will need to hit during the coming weeks.
  • After agreement by this call, work items will be reviewed as scope with the full WG to see who else wants to join the effort.
